Sadie Fields was the violin soloist in the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in our concert on 11th February. Sadie, who is Canadian, graduated with First Class Distinction from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and is now pursuing doctoral studies at the Royal Academy of Music. She leads an active performing career as soloist and chamber musician and has performed with orchestras across North America, the UK, and continental Europe. Sadie has played with the orchestra on several occasions.
The February concert was conducted by Peter Stallworthy, one of the region's busiest and most versatile choral and orchestral conductors. He is principal conductor of the Barnby Choir and the North Staffordshire Symphony Orchestra and appears regularly as guest conductor for the WSO.
